Vacuum once a week or twice a week in high traffic areas. Do not use a vacuum cleaner with a rotary brush nozzle, sharp teeth or bristles.

We always recommend you to take your carpet to a professional carpet cleaner that performs level wash. When dry cleaning it is important that no chemicals containing Trikloretylen are used.

Important: Do not use water to clean hand-tufted carpets as it dissolves the latex that binds the yarn with the backing fabric.
A carpet pad is a layer of spongy material installed underneath your carpet. Carpet pads not only provide extra cushioning for your feet but also makes it easier for you to vacuum your rug or carpet and clean the floor underneath. Plus, this simple tool also absorbs sound and keeps winter drafts from seeping through the carpet.

It’s essential to attend to stains immediately and avoid leaving them overnight.. The longer the stain sits, the deeper it will sink into your carpet. When stains inevitably occur, use carpet cleaning products made for your specific type of carpet, or make a homemade cleaning solution using gentle colourless liquid detergent with water to clean stains. Dip a white clean cloth and wipe off the stains rubbing in one direction only. Recommended soap – TR 101 from Diversey.

Get your family in the habit of walking through your home barefoot or in slippers to keep the carpets free of the dirt your shoes collect. If possible, ask your house guests to abide by the same rule. If you happen to collect a lot of dust then take your rug outside and beat it to get the dirt out. You do not require any special equipment for this just use a dry mop or broomstick.

Recommend professional cleaning.

Since this is a handmade carpet made out of natural fibers, light shedding is natural. Shedding is normal for a new carpet and should reduce within a month or two. Depending on the making technique, during the first period, the carpet can shed quite a bit and is not a manufacturing fault. The best way to get rid of this is to vacuum regularly. After a while the shredding decreases but it’s important to know that it will never stop completely.

Do not pull out any loose threads. Use scissors to cut them.

Roll the carpet for storage and do not fold. Store in the given bag to protect the carpet from dust. Protect from sunlight.

  • Since harsh indentations are caused by the concentrated weight of furniture pressing on a small area, spreading out the load is a great way to minimize damage. Purchase a set of furniture coasters and pop them under the legs of furniture to distribute the weight.

  • Regularly moving your furniture will prevent severe indentations from forming. Even if it’s just a few inches to the side, keeping furniture legs from sitting on the same space for years at a time can reduce compression of the fibers underneath.

  • You can use a small comb or even the edge of a coin to gently tease the carpet back up. It may take a while, but with a thorough vacuum afterward it can go a long way in repairing smashed fibers.
  • Keep your drapes and blinds closed. By keeping your drapes and blinds closed, you will be able to protect your carpet from the sun, which is one of the biggest culprits of carpet fading.

  • Install protective window treatments. You can purchase ultraviolet window treatments. These are actually coatings that can be placed on the window itself to block out the UV rays from the sun. If you don’t like the look of darker window coatings, you can simply buy the clear type for a more invisible look.

  • Treat your carpets with a carpet protector. You can buy a fluorocarbon carpet protector treatment that can be applied directly to the carpet. This product will help keep your carpet from fading. However, you will have to reapply it periodically for continued protection.
